I just read # 11. OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!

Spoilers! Spoilers! Spoilers!

NINA JUST TOOK OFF HER HAIR AND IT WAS REALLY JOHAN!!!

I feel like I should have guessed this since the manga only said one million times previously that they are twins and they really look alike. I was puzzling over the poisoned chocolates, but I went down a rabbit hole of thinking Nina did give the cops the chocolates but Johan/Johan's accomplice poisoned them afterward, or Johan had a female accomplice who gave the cops poisoned chocolates. I also assumed that Nina had come to the scene of the murder of the guy who had the unlicensed orphanage chasing after Johan and got there too late, after he'd done the murder, and that's why the kids saw a beautiful woman. Nope nope nope! It was Johan all along!

I need to go back to figure out when he started impersonating her because now I'm not sure if they're both in Prague at the same time or if just he is.

That drawing of Johan's face in the Nina wig, where it's clearly him, was so fucking creepy. And so is that children's book about the faceless monster.

The children's book about the faceless monster is SO CREEPY. My former household made a copy for cosplay reasons, and it's actually just really creepy to have sitting around on a shelf where you trip over it every so often randomly. Kind of glad my current household did not get that item when we split up.

There are so many moments like this in this manga, which is why I love it so.
skygiants: Bunny-suit Kenji from 20th Century Boys saying 'this is the defender of justice who's gonna save the world from danger' (love and peace are on hold)

I read Monster ten years ago and have forgotten tremendous amounts of the plot, but the creepy children's book will stick with me FOREVER.
hokuton_punch: Dr. Tenma from Monster with a shocked face and the caption, "This is so bad. SO BAD." (tenma monster so bad)

That reveal was TERRIFYING. Poor Jan Suk! And the children's book is just super, super creepy. Even beyond the normal realm of unexpectedly creepy children's books. D:
