Other: teaching my daughter to vacuum. (OMG, they get useful, eventually!) Sorely tempted to try a Yuletide treat if only for troll rebuttal.

Writing the Horrible Bits to my h/c drawerfic. (Shapeshifting mind reading torturer woo!)

Band of Brothers exchange just revealed, so I'm reading that. And hopefully finishing a yuletide thing.

I just decided to do this because of your post two days ago, and now I have written a thing that I will polish and submit later this evening! Possibly the first fanfic that I've written in just under 20 years, depending upon how you define things.

Thank you!

Gloating because, for the first time ever, I have TWO gifts! And both posted well before default, unlike the past few years when I've seen my requests fly by as pinch hits. (Though I always got really lovely gifts anyway!)
sheliak: Handwoven tapestry of the planet Jupiter. (Default)

The Yuletide treat I'm working on is still looking like a dubious proposition. Too ambitious. Maybe I'll get the other one done, though.

(It doesn't actually snow here; it's been raining off and on, which I like, but snow would be better.)

Ended up doing last-minute edits to my assignment instead.

But there are 2022 fics in the archive now! *waves flag for succcessful treaters*

I have accepted that there are no more Yuletide writing in me for this year, but I'm probably going to do ALL the last-minute Yuletide betaing tonight.
rosefox: Green books on library shelves. (Default)

"Other" is being glad I had the good sense not to do Yuletide this year, or even take more than a cursory look at the pinch hits as they came through. Maybe next year.

Being glad that it stopped snowing! I don't anticipate being deprived of snow for the next few months, so a break is nice.

Chatting with my new fandom friend and passing on lots of historical info to help her write the next chapter of my non-YT gift fic where my fave lives!
rmc28: Rachel in hockey gear on the frozen fen at Upware, near Cambridge (Default)

Other: watching Die Hard with my beloved (I tried to get older offspring to watch too but he wanted to do something else. His loss. There's always next Christmas.)

It's a really good film, so much characterisation in small actions, so much good acting. So many good lines.

"What idiot put you in charge?"

"You did. When you shot my boss."

Yes, and so many little points get taken up and used for greater effect later, like the picture on Holly's desk.

Rather than repeat last year's holiday misery with my father and stepmother, my brother and I absconded to Japan. We spent Christmas Eve at the Pokémon Center, among many other places in Tokyo. Happy Yuletide!
