Please rec me sources for regularly and ideally daily updated high quality Covid info in TEXT format, like a blog. Ideally, not Twitter.

Oh, oh, I have one! Via [personal profile] seekingferret, COVID Transmissions (John Skylar). He updates MWF (used to be daily but it got to be too much for him -- he does it in his spare time). He's a PhD and works in the field, and I find his discussions very informative and useful.

Your Local Epidemiologist on substack. Not quite daily, but quite useful.

Ahaha. I am a college professor who takes immunosuppressive medication with a seven year old who is too young to be vaccinated. I live in Iowa, where a law was passed to make it illegal for schools (public and private) to require masks OR vaccination,

In short, not well.

Not quite. It’s a long story. Do you still have the same gmail address?

The Seattle Times runs a daily news roundup about the virus that I look at most days.

Not updated daily, but not a bad source for global COVD-19 news.

What sort of info? Research, news, epidemiology, arguments against deniers/grifters? I pick up a lot of things via Twitter (and then follow links back to sources).

For an overview, https://www.theguardian.com/world/coronavirus-outbreak isn't bad.

Twitters I look in on:

https://twitter.com/kallmemeg/with_replies -- epidemiologist at Public Health England
https://twitter.com/hildabast/with_replies -- vaccine research news
https://twitter.com/jburnmurdoch/with_replies -- outstanding data visualizations
https://twitter.com/HelenBranswell/with_replies -- of Statnews
https://twitter.com/andrew_croxford/with_replies
https://twitter.com/JamesWard73/with_replies (one of the best modellers for the UK)
https://twitter.com/VikiLovesFACS/with_replies -- a model of science communication (and heroic patience)
https://twitter.com/GYamey/with_replies
https://twitter.com/gorskon/with_replies -- Orac, nemesis of the anti-vaxxers (and, to his recent surprise, of the TERFs)
https://twitter.com/sailorrooscout/with_replies -- positive vaccine news and boundless enthusiasm from a research assistant at Moderna

Likely to remember more shortly.

Chise's a delight (and has had to deal with some really gratuitous shit aimed at her, despite which she gets a lot of respect from other scientists):

ETA: in particular, there was a moment when someone prominent tried to gatekeep her for only having a Master's not a PhD yet, and many luminaries of epidemiology and immunology Twitter said OH HELL NO:

(That was also when many of said luminaries gently twisted her arm until she set up a Ko-Fi, as she'd admitted she was still saving up to be able to pursue a PhD.)
