As a member of the mod team, believe me, I have multiple reasons to be very glad we can now edit ourselves.

On the one hand, the internet has come so far! On the other hand, this is a great story!

I haven't posted yet so couldn't tick it, but honorable mention for "I sure am glad we can now edit ourselves rather than having to email Elyn." (The first year I signed up was the year we signed up on the old website but posted to AO3, so I never actually had to deal with the old system and am so grateful, zomg. An essential part of my current posting process is throwing it in preview, reading till I find something to fix, fixing it, and viewing the preview again for a zillion iterations.)

Re BEARS, here's When You Give a Monarch a Bear, a bit of humor that I wrote about a month ago in 18th century fandom discussions. All of these anecdotes are, if not all true stories, at least things you will find in history books.

Content warnings for, oh, god, can I say everything? Non-graphic bear maulings, animal harm, alcoholism, vomiting, bestiality jokes, BDSM, unfounded pedophilia allegations by historians, the Medici Grand Duke has a harem of 300+ male prostitutes called the Ruspanti, obscure abbreviations like "FW" for "King Frederick William I of Prussia", and jokes based on obscure historical figures and events that might not be funny without the background knowledge.

P.S. The mods totally used us as an example two days ago--For example, tag “18th Century CE RPF”, not “18th Century CE Frederician RPF”--and I'm still delighted that my basically 3-person fandom got a callout. :D

I am at least over the minimum wordcount, as of last night. And I think every sentence has a full stop at the end.

I posted my assignment last night but now I have to review canon for a pinch hit due at 4 am on Monday! *meep*

I am just lacking a title for mine, but hey, I have time left to replace the placeholder title...

I just posted mine sans the epilogue, which I can put together this weekend. The editing capabilities on AO3 are something I've been thankful for every year since we got them!

I came sliding in at the last minute after not so much misreading the Yuletide deadline as having a very incorrect idea of what day today was.

It's been a long year.

This is the first time in several years that I didn't sign up and the relief is so wonderful I don't even have words for it

One of these days I'm going to finish and submit a Yuletide assignment before the final day. And when that happens, I will be unbearable.

I posted mine a week ago but I'm slowly adding bits, because it's only 1,200 words and I've seen so much discourse about hating short fic... which normally wouldn't bother me, because I love short fic, but all the fic my recipient bookmarks is 10k+ words, so I'm trying to beef it up a little.

Also madly trying to write treats. If I'm really good I can get two done in time! If not I guess they'll just be non-Yuletide fic.

I have posted my fic up to the first point that could be an ending. I am still frantically trying to write my way up to the ending, but if I don't get there I could go with what I have.

I finished my assignment a couple hours before the deadline and went straight back to paper writing. I was sure I wasn't going to make it! (My school's semester ends on December twenty-first, and we're supposed to get student grades in on the twenty-third. I would like to know who is responsible for this calendar.)

I have three pinch hits! One was due today, I didn't realise until after midnight last night that it was due at 9 am. I had to very quickly type up approx 400 words to get over the limit. And then I picked up two more today, I just couldn't see them languish!

I also have at least one treat in mind. These are ALL for the same fandom, I fear overwhelming them with too much me!

I didn't sign up but have acquired canons because there's two treat letters I'm eyeing!
