rachelmanija: (Oh noes!)

Still feel horrible. Have stopped taking oral antibiotic because it was making me sick as a dog. A doctor friend is looking into a substitute. However, I still feel awful, and am also worried because I'm on several tight deadlines and several more days of being unable to work will create an avalanche of work later.

Is it possible to get a friend to pick up a prescription for me if I can't get out of the house? How does that work?

Thanks to everyone who sent cheering things. If you want to send more, feel free.

I picked up [livejournal.com profile] timprov's prescriptions long before I had his power of attorney forms, so I imagine they say, "I'm here to pick up a prescription, last name Brown" and go on with their lives.

spamusement (http://spamusement.com/) never fails to cheer me up!

weBOOGLE (http://weboggle.shackworks.com/) is addictive and challenging!

Because it brings together two of my favourite things in the world, NOVELTY SONGS and THE PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS, I give this piece of animation (http://www.privatehand.com/flash/elements.html) whenever someone asks to be amused. So, you may have gotten it in the past. Still excellent, though.

Feel better!

If you are still looking for travel accounts, here is what I did on my holiday in Sweden (http://oursin.livejournal.com/tag/sweden) last summer.

Not sure how it works over there re prescriptions: in UK form has a space on the back to fill in with details of whether you are patient or collecting on behalf of. Not sure whether pharmacists scrutinise very closely unless it's for ampoules of morphine or similar.

In the US all they have to do is take the prescription to a pharmacist and tell them your name to put on the label if it's not on the bit of paper in the doctor's illegible scrawl. H. and I pick up each other's all the time.

Get well, get well!

I pick up Chad's all the time, and as is apparent we do not have each other's last names.

As long as it's not something with the potential to be abused recreationally, they'll pretty much hand it over to whoever comes and pays for it. Were it an opiate or something, they'd be more stringent, but antibiotics aren't enough fun to take for the DEA to get stroppy.

Get well soon!
