Pet Sematary, by Stephen King. I seem to have never reviewed this, and recently listened to a great audio version.

Lilith: A Snake in the Grass, by Jack Chalker. I don't believe in book shaming so I will unashamedly say that this is a re-read.

Suffer the Children, by Craig DiLouie. A bunch of people on Reddit said this affected them profoundly. It did not affect me profoundly. Horror with a lot of dead kids.

1. The spite house
2. Mary, which came an incredibly close second, mostly because I am afraid of menopause LOL
3. Lilith: a snake in the grass, I am intrigued by the book shaming and have also read some thrillers with snakes and have found I enjoy literary snakes even more than real ones.
ETA: I am a mouse with very little brain cells left at the end of a long day. Corrected my poll votings as I finally saw that multi-vote is okay with this one. Leaving the ranking up in case it entertains or something. ;-)
