Or misspelling. Or word confusion. Or something. From a family friend:

"I heard from your Dad about your auto accident and amazing escape. I'm so glad you're OK. He didn't go into detail but it sounds quite heroing."

Well - depending on how you look at it, since you walked out almost unscathed, you might say the incedent made you into a hero, hence "heroing". :)

I think I would have to actually have done something brave and beyond the call of duty for it to have qualified as heroing. Having a piano _almost_ fall on your head, for instance, does not count.

Yes, but you rolled your car, avoided killing anyone else, and kept your wits about you. That is indeed pretty impressive - nerves of steel if nothing else.

Now, karmically, the driver that forced you to do this... He/she'll get what's coming to him/her. It will happen - I have faith.

Honestly, I'm just glad that you are okay. You're a hero in my eyes. :)

I think the driver's punishment is that he probably thinks that he killed someone. Everyone else who saw the accident thought I was dead for sure.

So if he has a conscience, he probably feels incredibly guilty, and if he doesn't, he probably worries that some day, somehow, he might be discovered and go to jail.

If he'd only stopped, he would have found out that I wasn't even hurt. But he was long, long gone before I got out of the car.

Clearly, the writer knows about your hidden identity and true nature.

I like the Sluggy Freelance alternate-history strip where Riff visits Gwynn in the hospital and says, "What can I get my sister, the hero?" She corrects him, "heroine". He replies along the lines of, "That might be hard. How about some Valium or Demerol?".
