TRICKSTER'S CHOICE is overdue from the library. THE IRRESPONSIBLE CAPTAIN TYLOR (first four episodes) is very overdue from the video store. I will return both tomorrow whether I've finished them or not, but plan to finish TRICKSTER tonight.

(Preliminary report on the latter: readable as always with Pierce and nice use of southeast Asian food, but is Aly supposed to be an incompetent spy, or does Pierce not know how to write a competent one? She is terrible! Virtually every single character has either spotted her or at least remarked upon the fact that she is clearly not what she seems.)

This overdueness and lack of reading/viewing time has been because I've been sequestering myself in coffee shops and working on the memoir revisions for six hours at a time. I am on fire.

Very cool on the long revision stretches!

I've found so long as I go out to work (rather than staying home), I can manage 5-7 hour stretches. It's a good feeling.

I put down the people-spotting to her being singled out by the god and being forced to take a leadership role. But yeah, I find a couple of things about the setup frustratingly implausible.

(Go, go, revisions!)

That's much my take — that what we are shown about Aly and what characters tell about her do not match up. It felt like a book that needed one more rewrite.
