Oh, that was sweet, so sweet.

I could see Andrew's expulsion coming because there was so much footage of him being smug and arrogant and gloating over what a genius he was and how much everyone else sucked, but even so, it was a great moment to see him go. His ranting about how nutritious his gross ground-parsnip rolls were reminded me of a mad scientist advertising food pills.

Now if only Spike can be eliminated. Then they can go lounge in a hot tub together and I will never have to see either of them again.

I lean toward thinking that Lisa was not sabotaged (though I believe that she believed it) because as Dale pointed out, accidentally turning up the heat is an easy mistake to make -- especially if you're exhausted. Plus there were cameras all over the kitchen, so if anyone did mess with her rice, it would have been so likely to have been captured on tape and exposed.

I think the top three will be Stephanie, Dale, and Richard. They've been the most consistent so far, and have often won or placed well in individual challenges. I think Lisa is too inconsistent. I just don't want to see Spike in the top three so I'm willing him to flame out. Antonia (who's pretty funny now that they're giving her more screentime) could be a dark horse contender.

Looking forward to restaurant wars. It's going to be tough doing that with just three people per team-- don't they usually have four or five? Maybe they'll retrieve some eliminated contestants as sous-chefs.

The past couple seasons they've only had 3 per team for restaurant wars. I believe one team last season was Dale, Hung, and Sara unless I'm remembering wrong.

I find Andrew just this side of actively frightening -- my personal bubble expands 3x whenever he's onscreen, and about 10x the instant he opens his mouth. His aggressiveness just reads as barely-restrained violence, even when he's not expressing outright anger.

So, yeah. Glad not to be watching him.

I agree. He's very twitchy and creepy--especially how he was staring at Lisa.

I think he's a psycho. I noticed that Tom and Padma did not seem too keen on shaking his hand.

As other contestants said, it might not even have been Lisa who turned the burner up, but an honest mistake by someone else -- it's easy to turn the wrong burner on, realize it, and re-set it to what you *thought* it was, but be wrong.

Either way, in a busy kitchen it ought to be second nature to keep an eye on your stuff.

Every single contestant who's whinged at length about THEIR WAY and BEING TRUE TO THEMSELF when said way consists of not actually following the rules annoys the hell out of me. I mean, did they not know what they were getting into when they got onto Top Chef?

Or the ones who whinge about having to prepare food for the smelly, unwashed masses, or who attempt to "educate" them about food. It's not like this is the Cordon Bleu Cooking Competition! They remind me of the trufen who won't admit anime or, as we see now, YA to their fandoms, and who pepper their behavior and conversation with stuff that only makes sense if you're familiar with the past 40 years of fandom history, who then whine about the greying of fandom. One or the other, guys! Pick a path and stick to it and stop complaining!

And the masses are never as unwashed as some of the contestants assume. The cops went for Dale's lettuce cups, which were neither Americana nor macho. They just didn't like weird, disgusting food like parsnip sushi.

Well, who the hell would? I love parsnips and that shit still looked nasty.

It's also a tremendous insult to your own cooking skills if you think the 'good' food you prepare isn't accessible to everyone.

I think Richard is the one to beat, but I'm pulling for Stephanie. She's been my favorite since she did the won-ton desserts for the neighborhood block party.

My money is on Richard to win too.

Word regarding everything here, ALTHOUGH, I was even pushing a little more for Spike to be booted this time. The way he tried to sabotage everyone else with his handicap privilege was truly creepy. It's funny how Spike appears unkillable, however many times he's on the chopping block.

I also doubt Lisa was sabotaged but can understand how she might fear it, working with Spike and Andrew.

Lisa's so grumpy too. God, shut up Lisa, no one cares about your rice. She and Spike should be the next ones to go.

God, I love Restaurant Wars.
