"Manhwa" is Korean manga, by the way. It reads left to right.
telophase recced this in a hilarious series of polls and posts which I now cannot find, but if she can dig up the links, they will display the extremely pretty art. I am particularly taken with the sensual lips and kohl-lined eyes.
This is a cracktastic retelling of the 1001 Nights. What do you mean by "cracktastic," Rachel, you ask?
Page 5: The Sultan, who is drawn so sexily that he must be the romantic lead, threatens to cut off the head of his new bride, Sehara. Yes, I know this is from the original, but just wait.
Page 7. The Sultan rips off Sehara's shirt, revealing that he is a boy!
Page 9. The Sultan threatens to disembowel Sehara.
Page 10. The Sultan threatens to slit Sehara's throat.
Page 12-13. In a flashback, we meet younger Sehara and his sister Dunya, for a moment of totally random incestuous desire.
[I am now losing track of page numbers since they're not actually printed on the pages, but soon after...]
Totally incomprehensible action sequence.
Woo-hoo! Meet Jafar, scruffy minister with glasses, and the only person in the story who isn't at least a little bit nuts. As
telophase predicted, I love Jafar.
Foursome! In a hot tub!
Sehara tells the story of Turandot.
Hilarious joke comic at end in which the mangaka drinks a bug.
I am told that this gets even more cracktastic in later volumes. I was quite entertained as it is.
