ETA: Yuletide is here: http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/

And, alas, I have to go off to see my family rather than spending the rest of the day reading. Drat. I have read lots of great stories already, including mine (mine, mine, all mine, my preciousssss) but now have no time to make recommendations. I will do so when I return tomorrow afternoonish.

This has already been the best winter holiday ever, and will continue to be for as long as I have stories to read. I hope the rest of you are just as happy as I am, though that is a little hard to imagine because I am SO HAPPY. (And not even drunk, though I bet some of you were wondering.)

In the meantime, consider this an open thread to place your Yuletide speculations regarding authorship in comments.

Guessers: Please do not spoil either fandoms or stories in your comments.

Authors: Please, neither confirm nor deny your authorship. Responses like "What makes you think I wrote that one?" or "So you read the line 'Slave Bear is tied to the rape rack' and thought of me, huh?" are fine.

That Care Bear story had me howling.

I will never view rape racks in the same way again. No, wait. I will never view the Care Bears in the same way again.

[livejournal.com profile] springgreen wrote mine. I think this because of the food and the gentleness in the interactions and also because she is one of two other people whom I know to have read the manga in question.

But that is my only guess so far.

Wow, I didn't know anything abut Yuletide, but I ave gone through a couple stories (sadly I don't know what half of those fandoms even are) but it seems really cool.

Wild guess that [livejournal.com profile] ionescribens wrote the Sorcery and Cecelia one because I know hers is long and.... I don't know.

Sorry to barge in on this thread, I've been randomly skimming [livejournal.com profile] yuletide related posts. Anyway, if it's this year's crossover with Mairelon the Magician, I know who wrote it and it's someone I suspect you're unfamiliar with.

I should state, for the record because I will turn out to be wrong, that I strongly suspect our own [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija of having written the one for me, which is Westmark. But that's mostly because it was a very familiar voice, and people talk freely about doing pinch hits, and I am pretty sure mine was a pinch hit, and it's a very familiar voice.

(I don't even know if you have even read the books, ma'am. But it was you or [livejournal.com profile] coffeeandink, and she rec'd the story, so it's not her. This means it will not only not be someone on my flist, it will be somebody I've never met in my life, and all my delusions of reference will be shattered.)

And for a last-minute guess, I will say for the record that I think [livejournal.com profile] veejane did "Jane Narf," though like all of my other guesses, I will probably end up being embarrassingly wrong and it will be no one I know. But it was something about the crazy humor and the knowledge of Bronte, even though I don't even know if [livejournal.com profile] veejane has even read Jane Eyre or watched Animaniacs.

Guessing for the record that the same person did the Colbert Report and Kennedy incest stories, though I don't know who they are.
