With the manga Saiyuki 4 already in my possession, I just got the DVDs of the last two discs of the first TV series that I'd ordered from ebay.

I'm a little scared to post this after what happened the last time I wrote about how happy I was, but I have to say, this day just keeps getting better and better.

Want ten pages of Saiyuki doujinshi crossdressing goodness (http://www.sfolse.net/random/saiyuki_doujin01.zip)? (zip file; about 1.8 megs) At least I *think* I managed to scan from page 1 to page 10 of that particular story -- since the Japanese creators have the sheer audacity to write in the language they know and not one I'm familiar with, I can only guess at what looks like the beginning and end.

That story is followed by two I didn't scan; the first involving Gojya sleeping and Sanzo in an apron. O.o And the next one involves a lot of random Saiyuki characters.

Going through this, I can tell you that the difference between amateur and pro comic artists is that when the best pros draw a comic, you can actually tell what is happening without reading the dialogue. I've been downloading the raws of Death Note before the translations come out, and I've found that I can get the gist of what's going on without needing the dialogue. I knew that already, but it's nice to have it confirmed so graphically.

Which reminds me ... I had a thought that I need to email you about in re: your mention of needing a new project. ;)

YES! And please do email me. I'm off for physical therapy right now, but have been kicking around the beginning of a script while printing the memoir the World's Slowest Printer (TM) (approximately one page per minute, I'm on 125 of 571 and no, I'm not kidding). Although I later fled to the next room to watch the Saiyuki DVD # 11, which concluded on such a brilliant cliff-hanger that I'm ever so grateful that # 12 came with it.

Sheesh, that *is* slow. :)

I havne't seen the #12 Saiyuki DVD yet since I've been Staying Away From my local DVD/manga supply house because I have no self-control when it comes to my entertainment, and I end up spending $25+ in there on DVD rentals and manga whenever I go. I did go once last week, but someone else had it checked out. It *is* driving me crazy, though. :)

Forgot to add -- if you can decipher any of the Japanese in the doujinshi, let me know. It's driving me crazy to figure out what's going on. :)
