I have Microsoft Word. For no apparent reason, the toolbar at the top, without which I cannot do stuff like cut-and-paste, etc, has vanished. If I click "home" it comes back. But when it is present, I cannot actually type in the document. I can only type when the toolbar is gone.

Also, normally once I click "home" the toolbar stays. Now it vanishes as soon as I type anything.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA: Fixed!

What version of MS Word are you using? What operating system are you on?

Also, do you know the keyboard commands? Much faster (and better for your RSI) than using the menus/toolbars.

Another vote for keyboard shortcuts here ... CTRL+C (copy), CTRL+X (cut), and CTRL+V (paste) are your friends, and much easier while you're typing along than reaching for a mouse and a menu.

My life is incomplete without CTRL-Z.

In fact, I'd kind of like CTRL-Z for all of my life, not just doing stuff on the computer...

Like when you shut the door and as it closes, you think, "Wait, did I leave my keys inside?"

The nice thing is these keys (undo, cut, copy, paste) are standard across programs, including Mac.

Don't you have to mouse-highlight before cutting and pasting though? Is there a keyboard command for select?
