Can anyone think of anything positive, either in their own lives or in the world at large? If so, tell me! I don't mean happy kitty photos (unless they're of your own kitty who makes you happy) but actual events or news that doesn't suck.
Mine's a local operation (Project Pet (http://www.projectpet.com/index.asp)), but fluffynet.com (http://fluffynet.com) and this site (http://www.saveourstrays.com/no-kill.htm) have lists of no-kill shelters by state, if you want to start looking for one that's close to you.
You'll have to talk to someone a little bit to get started, of course, but many places are always looking for people to walk/socialize the animals, help with cleaning or grooming, or do other tasks that don't usually require too much interaction with other humans.
