My mother sent me some gorgeous photos she took of her neighborhood in semi-rural India. (Ahmednagar, two hours from Pune, Maharashtra.)





A Gul Mohur. They burst into bloom in summer.



Elephants are a rare sight in that state.

I think this is the first time I've seen pictures of India that weren't crowded with people. It looks different than I expected. The sunrise picture in particular is stunning.

Kind of like the US, cities and towns are crowded but when you get out of those, there's big stretches of land with not a person to be seen.
