Here's two more booknooks - these are a bit larger. I did these a while back.

The Change, with Ross, Sheriff Crow, Felicite, and Becky.

And an original fantasy world.

I've been working on some book-based book nooks. Here's one I did a while back, from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Check out the book Jake's reading.

Here's one in progress, from Anne McCaffrey's Pern. Lessa and Kylara meet on the beach.

Little wooden boxes from Daiso, 3D printed plastic figurines from Etsy (I paint them), paints, natural material, some miniature building craft materials.

My latest book nook, a homage to Stephen King's Dark Tower. Make sure you click through to see ALL the photos.

This was a gift for [personal profile] scioscribe, along with an accompanying set of figurines, most of which I unfortunately failed to photograph before mailing them. Maybe she will put up her own pics (hint, hint.) It's about 98% complete in these photos--everything done except for sealing and painting over the edges where I cut the cardboard.

Like my hair, many details are only visible in person.

Spoilers for the book nook, not for the book it's based on )

My primordial forest book nook. Despite the caption, it actually is done. I was going to add some vines, but I liked it better without them.

Jake Chambers finds a door.

I'm going to do some figures in larger sizes, so I can make little animals and sandwiches and other accessories for them. These are 1/64 scale, which is too small for me to sculpt. I think 1/24 might be just right for that purpose. Of course I'd have to make suitably sized environments for them...

(Now you understand why I'm listening to so many audio books.)

I went to Halle's place for the weekend. It was lovely and sunny.

I returned right before it would have been too late to return!

Book Nook in progress. Click through to see stages. I'm going for a primordial forest look. I'm very pleased with the rock.

I'm currently working on learning to make book nooks, moss gardens, and other tiny-scale projects.

I ordered some 3D printed 1:64 scale figures from Etsy, and have been practicing painting them.

First try, with random sample figures.

Second try; Sheriff Crow and Becky in progress.

I can tell already that the big thing I need to obtain is a free-standing magnifying glass. I am in desperate need of a new glasses prescription and probably can't get one for at least six months. Thanks covid!

Any tips or favorite tip sites for miniature crafts?

I am justifying my ridiculous time-wasting in creating this by sharing it with you! Should anyone wish to get me something off this list, purely out of the kindness of your heart or the hope that it will appear in this blog and amuse you later, have at it.

There's a bunch of books on there. If you happen to have any that you don't want to keep, I'd be delighted with your beat-up used copy. No need to purchase anything from Amazon, that's just for convenience of list-making. Email me for my address if you don't have it.

A brief explanation of the figurines, not that they really require an explanation:

I've semi-recently gotten back into modeling with clay, displaying/playing with figurines, and creating little dioramas for my own amusement. I'd like to create some based on favorite fandoms, and also on some of my own books.

My skills at animals and organic/simple objects are about a million times better than my skills at people and mechanical objects. So I want to combine purchased figurines at 6" scale with things I made to create little dioramas and photograph them to create stories - comic books for people who can't draw, basically. Since my own books don't have figurines and most of the fandoms I'm interested don't either, I will be substituting.

For instance, I'm thinking of doing some Dark Tower scenes, using Carl from Walking Dead as Jake Chambers.
