Someone whom I suspect of being
telophase sent me Magic's Pawn by Mercedes Lackey. It is about Vanyel, a whiny young gay mage who gets persecuted and beaten up and wears extremely beautiful clothes, and often asks, "Why me?" I know this because I got my hair cut yesterday, and from the first page I knew it was appropriate salon reading material. If I hadn't gotten distracted by the woman getting her hair trimmed next to me freaking out at me ("Your HAIR! You're cutting off ALL YOUR HAIR! OMG! I would never have the balls to do that!") I would probably have finished it then and there. It is great salon reading!
PS. If my elbows are OK, I will post in marginally more detail when I finish it.
PPS. The woman in the next chair, whose reaction resembled the rabbit demon in my icon, was kind of freaking me out, but I like my sassy new haircut. I will post a photo if I can remember how.
